You've probably seen all these posts on my IDS projects and thought, 'but where is the actual thing'? Aaaaand what you all might've been waiting for. I mean, the project link is on the home page, but there's the video on the processes (even though the process sucked at times).

An assignment on imagining we (mini program students) went to Galiano Island. Originally, we were supposed to go to Galiano last week, but...you know. So we were to create a collage of 'our week in Galiano', with ourselves in the photo. My finished collages are below, with the image address of the original images (the ones from the internet). Also, I apologize in advance for the 4 small photos compared to the 1 large kayak photo. I'm not sure why, but I can't do much about it. Sources cited (in order of slideshow): https://galianoisland.com/sites/default/files/Sunset%20Tour.jpg https://www.bcmarinetrails.org/images/stories/Gulf_Islands/coonbaycamp.jpg https://www.vmcdn.ca/f/files/via/import/2011/12/ferry1.jpg;w=960 https://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-m/1280/13/bd/44/d3/dionisio-point-provincial.jpg https://activeislands.com/sites/default/files/grey-penninsula-by-flickr-davidstanleytravel.jpg And, of course, the photos of me were taken by my mom and I. Except for my friend Talia over there in the kayak. That was taken by someone from her family. With permission, I used it. Re-create a famous artwork with everyday household items. The twist: add Grumpy Cat somewhere into the image.
The original image of Grumpy Cat is below. This class assignment is about the progress of what I have done so far of my IDS project. In the past week and a half (during school), I have drawn (but not finished) the background for the first screen. I've also done some graphics and coded simple animations for my game, such as the blue square hovering over the character (see images below). At home, i've brainstormed the character statistics and design, as well as asking for feedback from my brother and other people. According to my project plan/timeline, I am on track. 1. I plan on exploring coding and animating for my IDS project. I want to combine making games on Roblox, coding on Snap and using Snap to code several animations.
2. I envision having this detailed, smooth game that people (especially children) will enjoy playing. It will have smooth animations, promo codes that are found in Roblox, and different game modes that the user can play (single, multi, minigame). To attract attention, I also imagine some sort of visual poster displaying my game. 3. I want to test the limits of my knowledge of coding through making a realistic game. I also chose this as a project because I want to share the feelings of joy I get when I code with others, and I love to code and draw so I decided to combine the 2. 4. The purpose of this project is to teach people about (my love for) Marvel and to relieve stress/let people have fun. 5. It will challenge me and bring me out of my comfort zone by adding animations that are somewhat realistic and smooth, and by getting me to ask for feedback. I am an introvert, so talking to people often isn’t my thing. 6. The digital aspect of my project is the coding-and-using-computer part. I'll also be doing some digital drawing. 7. It will help me to improve by teaching me how to use my time efficiently and effectively at a consistent pace. It will also help me by letting me get more experiences in communication and working using the design cycle. Things I really enjoy doing (not in any particular order): Coding Drawing (pencil) Animating Digital drawing Animating, or making stop motion is putting together many images to make it look like it is moving. I think I have interest in this because it combines art and technology, both of which I love. The best part about stop motion is that there's a magic when you finish it. You don't just love the end product but also strung together motionless photos into something alive and with motion. I became interested in it during and after I had taken a summer school course on stop motion around 4 years ago. I think it will make a good topic to choose for my IDS project because I can show my creativity through here, and I don't have as many opportunities to animate as I do with coding and drawing (both pencil and digital).
